About Ed.

A political activist since his first year in college and his involvement in the Campaign of John F. Kennedy, Ed. is now a full time Political Consultant since retiring from a 31 year career as an American History and Political Science Instructor, during which he was repeatedly recognized and awarded for his excellence in teaching and research, having been awarded "The Ashland Teacher of The Year Teacher Achievement Award” in 1989.

Having held elective office at every level of the teaching profession: local, district, state and national, Ed. has established and outstanding reputation in the labor movement community.

An Experienced Campaign director and manager, Ed. has built campaign organizations, (Candidate and Issues), from the ground up including: total strategy planning, campaign planning, design, development, staffing, training, organization, fund raising, personnel selection and recruitment, communications (including press, radio, TV, literature development and speech writing) and successful execution.

His legendary ability to analyze campaign progress and to evaluate polling data and call elections precinct by precinct has earned him the nickname "The Precinct Master".

Ed. is a Graduate of Central Connecticut State College, The New York Institute of Photography and Kent State University with majors in History and Political Science and minors in Psychology and Computer Science.

He is a practicing certified Parliamentarian of 30 years.

He is also currently working on a photography book: “A Different Vision: Close Up and Macrophotography, Tools and Techniques. Ed. admits he is now over a year behind on the completion of that work.

In that area of his life, Ed. is a life long Nikon devotee, but also utilizes SLR cameras from Olympus and Contax (no longer in production). His choice of a range finder street camera is the Contax G#3.

He has not made the full transition to the digital domain, preferring film, he’ll tell you the quality does not suit him yet…as related to cost as well. His films: Fuji all the way. Chromogenic B&W films as a matter of need and experimentation.

Ed. is also has extensive experience with invasive computer elements, i.e., viruses, spyware and advocates a multi-perimeter defense system and is able to identify and root out even the most difficult of malware.

He deals with those issues from: netwatchman.ed@gmail.com should have a question or problem.

A bit of a throw back, Ed’s pack of camels and coffee cup are never far away and his computer is an “extreme machine” dubbed by his friends as “The Fire Breathing Dragon”.

On the Coffee side of things here is The Café Le Coffee, Ed’s favorite sources of coffee beans to hand grind and blend are Starbucks, (many) Caribou Coffee, (many and interesting specials), S&D Coffee (European Select Blend), Royal Cup of Coffee (Villa Rey Sumatra), Seattle’s Best (Some of those old café and press room type blends), Peet’s and a surprise to most: Trader Joe’s Volcanic Blend.

I don’t pass by any local/regional blender without a visit. There are always surprises. I almost always start with some Sumatra as part of the base of any blend, when I am not French Press brewing it by itself.
